Basketball Game Preview: Crownpoint Eagles vs. Tohatchi Cougars

The Crownpoint Eagles will head out to face off against the Tohatchi Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Crownpoint beats Tohatchi with 42 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Crownpoint walked away with a 42-35 win over Wingate on Wednesday. The Eagles didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Tohatchi had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They took down the Eagles 81-67.

Tohatchi is also on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Crownpoint, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-13.

Crownpoint was dealt a bruising 62-23 loss at the hands of Tohatchi when the teams last played back in January. Can Crownpoint avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
