Baseball Game Preview: Toledo Christian Eagles vs. Pettisville Blackbirds

The Toledo Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Pettisville Blackbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Toledo Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Toledo Christian lost 9-3 to Old Fort on Tuesday.

Tyler Grace made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pettisville never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Continental 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Blackbirds, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Caden Bishop made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bishop was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Creighton Aeschliman, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Aeschliman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Bishop, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pettisville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Continental only posted an OBP of .250.

Toledo Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pettisville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
