Baseball Recap: Baptist Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hazen on Thursday, Baptist Prep came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the White County Central Bears by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Aaron Fielder was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Nick Boyette was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Baptist Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1. As for White County Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Baptist Prep is set to challenge their familiar foe Mt. Vernon-Enola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, White County Central will face off against rival Quitman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
