Softball Recap: Luling Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Luling was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell 4-1 to the Flatonia Bulldogs. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Luling saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serenity Nunez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Luling has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Flatonia and bumps their season record up to 4-3-1.

Luling will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stockdale at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Flatonia, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against Yoakum on the 8th.
