Baseball Recap: Baxter Springs Takes a Loss

Baxter Springs blew Girard out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Girard got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since March 27th.

Baxter Springs dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Girard, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Baxter Springs beat the Trojans by a score of 3-1 later that day.
