Recap: Atlantic Coast Stingrays vs. Beachside Barracudas
This season hasn't been kind to the Atlantic Coast Stingrays, who are still winless after their tenth game. Their rough 69-45 loss to Beachside on Monday might stick with them for a while. The contest was a close 27-24 at the break, but unfortunately for Atlantic Coast it sure didn't stay that way.
Despite the loss, Atlantic Coast had strong showings from Ben Ward, who scored 16 points, and Malik Aker, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ward scored 15 or more points.
Atlantic Coast bumped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Beachside, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic Coast will be home for the holidays to greet St. Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Augustine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Atlantic Coast in Florida (St. Augustine is ranked 297th, while Atlantic Coast is ranked 705th). Beachside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clay at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
