Baseball Recap: STEAM Academy at Mccluer South Berkeley's Loss Ends 13-Game Winning Streak at Home

STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley dropped their record down to 9-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the McCluer North Stars by a score of 8-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in April.

STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley got a massive performance out of Mustafa Taylor, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Reggie Gully was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs.

As for McCluer North, their record is now 9-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 26th.

On McCluer North's side, Daron Phillips was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Phillips a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Kane, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley will venture away from home to challenge Riverview Gardens at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McCluer North, they will host Jennings at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
