Volleyball Preview: Peninsula Panthers vs. West Warriors
Peninsula has been away from home for eight games now, but on Thursday they'll finally make their return. They will welcome the West Warriors at 3:30 p.m. West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Peninsula, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, it was close, but Peninsula sidestepped Sonora for a 2-1 victory.
Peninsula was staring down a 1-0 deficit headed into the second set, but they rallied to take the next three for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 15-8.
Meanwhile, West didn't have quite enough to beat Wiseburn- Da Vinci on Thursday and fell 3-2.
West actually scored more points across those five sets (106-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. After all that action, the final score was 16-25, 26-24, 15-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Peninsula's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Peninsula was able to grind out a solid victory over West in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, winning 3-1. Will Peninsula repeat their success, or does West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
