Volleyball Recap: George Washington Comes Up Short

George Washington came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Northeast Vikings. The Eagles have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

While George Washington ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-18.

George Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Northeast, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. George Washington will square off against rival Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northeast is set to challenge their familiar foe Academy at Palumbo at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
