Football Recap: Loyola Blakefield Piles Up the Points Against SEED

Loyola Blakefield's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the SEED Sabers 42-0. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Dons this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loyola Blakefield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlos Spencer, who threw for 288 yards and four TDs. Spencer's passing game has become a key predictor of the Dons' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise. Mason Russell helped Spencer out on the ground, rushing for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards.

Loyola Blakefield didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited SEED to a completion percentage of just 28.6%. The Dons weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Loyola Blakefield moved to 5-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for SEED, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Loyola Blakefield and Calvert Hall will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for SEED, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-14 victory against Francis Scott Key on the 7th.
