Suggested Video

The Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats are taking a road trip to face off against the Louise Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington will be strutting in after a victory while Louise will be coming in after a loss.

While Bobcats/Lady Cats fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Woodsboro 48-14 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bobcats/Lady Cats have posted since September 8, 2023.

Bloomington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kennylee Flood led the charge by rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Flood got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible61 yards. Bloomington also got a significant boost from Amari Gardner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bloomington was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 403 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.

Meanwhile, Louise couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 33-6 loss at the hands of Flatonia. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Bloomington came up short against Louise when the teams last played back in September of 2023, falling 27-18. Thankfully for Bloomington, Tayveon Kimble (who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 56 receiving yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
