Preview: Ross Little Giants vs. Springfield Blue Devils
Ross and Springfield are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Ross Little Giants will be home for the holidays to greet the Springfield Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Ross came up short against Napoleon and fell 61-51. While losing is never fun, Ross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Napoleon is ranked 95th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Springfield, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clay on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Springfield has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Springfield saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aaron Adams, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Adams pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Pope, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Springfield struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Ross bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Ross came up short against Springfield when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 66-61. Will Ross have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
