Lincoln Northeast is 6-1 against Papillion-LaVista since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lincoln Northeast Rockets will host the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

If Lincoln Northeast beats Papillion-LaVista with 52 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went Lincoln Northeast's way against Omaha Northwest on Tuesday as Lincoln Northeast made off with a 52-32 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bison 77-36. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-12.

Lincoln Northeast better keep an eye on Rease Murtaugh. She was instrumental in Papillion-LaVista's win, going 8-for-13 to rack up 21 points and four steals. Murtaugh's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taliyah Jackson, who went 7-for-13 on her way to 16 points.

Papillion-LaVista's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points over those games. As for Lincoln Northeast, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Lincoln Northeast won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, slipping by Papillion-LaVista 61-60. Does Lincoln Northeast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Papillion-LaVista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
