McDonald is 9-1 against Lowellville since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Rockets at 4:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, McDonald came up short against Mineral Ridge and fell 9-4. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lowellville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Garfield 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted since April 22nd.

The team relied heavily on Liam Bartlett, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Likens, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

McDonald's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Lowellville, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

McDonald took their victory against Lowellville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
