Basketball Game Preview: Lamesa Tornadoes vs. Brownfield Cubs

The Lamesa Tornadoes will venture away from home to square off against the Brownfield Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamesa has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Brownfield will come in with five straight wins.

Last Saturday, Lamesa ended up a good deal behind Bushland and lost 51-34.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brownfield beat Canyon 62-56 on Saturday.

Brownfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Lamesa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Lamesa came up short against Brownfield in their previous matchup back in January, falling 61-57. Can Lamesa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
