Providence gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls to the tune of 35-0. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.

Leading Providence to victory were Jackson Debe and Kaleb Vines. Debe threw for 148 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 passes, while Vines gained 148 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Debe a new career-high in rushing yards (55).

Providence's run defense was locked in: Hickory Ridge could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Cory Cunningham for the heroic effort on defense: he. Providence didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence will head out to face off against East Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hickory Ridge, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
