Volleyball Recap: Skyline Coyotes vs. Willow Canyon Wildcats
Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Willow Canyon Wildcats.
While Skyline was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-8.
Clara Lopez paced Skyline's offense, picking up five kills. Lopez got some help from Elianna Bancroft and her 11 assists. Finally, Jordan Seiuli kept Skyline's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Emory Scogin had an outrageously good game for Willow Canyon as she had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Scogin has posted over her last six games.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Willow Canyon, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5.
Coincidentally, Skyline and Willow Canyon will both be playing Chandler the next time they take the court. The Coyotes will host the Wolves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
