Baseball Game Preview: Weiser Wolverines vs. Payette Pirates

For the second straight game, Weiser will face off against Payette. The Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Weiser will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Payette, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolverines walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Pirates on Monday. That four-run margin sets a new team best for the Wolverines this season.

Brody Bittick looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Weiser is 3-1 when Bittick allows three or fewer earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Ingle, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Black, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Payette's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Weiser, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5.
