Baseball Recap: Houston County Fighting Irish vs. East Hickman County Eagles
Houston County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-3 to the East Hickman County Eagles. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 27, 2017, but that streak is no more.
Connor Mahoney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Brody Harris also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Houston County's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for East Hickman County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston County will challenge Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Hickman County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Harpeth at 6:15 p.m. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
