Basketball Game Preview: SA Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Eagle Pass Eagles

The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders will head out on the road to square off against the Eagle Pass Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. SA Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Eagle Pass likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, SA Roosevelt was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-59 to Steele. The loss continues a trend for the Rough Riders in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, SA Roosevelt got top-tier performance from Ethan Liserio, who posted 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Castillo, who scored nine points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Eagle Pass ended up a good deal behind Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday and lost 78-63.

SA Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Eagle Pass, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

SA Roosevelt didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Eagle Pass in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory.
