Softball Game Preview: Anson Bearcats vs. Monroe Redhawks

Anson is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Monroe a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Anson fell victim to Parkwood and their airtight pitching crew last Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Wolf Pack.

Meanwhile, Monroe came up short against Queen's Grant last Wednesday, falling 21-1.

Monroe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadie Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Anson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-12.

Everything went Anson's way against Monroe in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Anson made off with a 25-4 win. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Redhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
