Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grantsville walked away with it. They took their  matchup  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  54-17 win over the Carbon Dinos. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 32  points or more this season.
 Dallan Van Vliet was the offensive standout of the  game as he threw for 133 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Grantsville's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Rigdon Murdock, who rushed for 29 yards and a pair of  scores.
 Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Grantsville proved: they limited Carbon to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank  Zaiden Clark for the heroic effort on defense: he. Grantsville didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.
 Grantsville's defense didn't let  the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Aiden Brown and  Porter Davis, who racked up  four sacks between them.

Grantsville has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record  this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 6.42 yards per carry in those games compared to only 3.5 in the others. As for Carbon,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-9.
 Looking ahead, Grantsville will square off against Juab at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Carbon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
