Mauldin is a perfect 7-0 against Greenwood since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Mauldin came up short against T.L. Hanna and fell 3-1. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Mauldin was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made T.L. Hanna work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-13, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Greenwood came up short against Hillcrest on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Greenwood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-15.

Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Mauldin, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Everything went Mauldin's way against Greenwood in their previous meeting back in September, as Mauldin made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
