Basketball Recap: Barry County Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science last Thursday, Barry County Christian came back down to earth. The Barry County Christian Eagles took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Algoma Christian Knights. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 66-48.

Algoma Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Narva out in front who went 7-for-13 on his way to 19 points. The match was Narva's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Bouma, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Barry County Christian's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 16-2. As for Algoma Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Barry County Christian has already played their next contest, a 60-31 win against Rochester Hills Christian on the 18th. As for Algoma Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Zion Christian at 6:15 p.m. on February 24th.
