Baseball Game Preview: Sumner Spartans vs. Spanaway Lake Sentinels

The Sumner Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Spanaway Lake Sentinels at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sumner has four straight victories, Spanaway Lake has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Sumner and Olympia, and Sumner kept the tradition alive. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bears on Friday. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Spanaway Lake lost 11-1 to Curtis on Friday.

Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Spanaway Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
