Fayette County extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 3 this week by beating American Christian Academy, 33-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tigers.
Northside took down Greene County 62-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Sipsey Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Garret Lewis threw for 310 and three touchdowns and Caleb Kuykendall had 144 yards receiving. On the ground Trey White chipped in 85 yards. Braylan Smith helped Sipsey Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 143 yards.
Lewis has thrown for 1443 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Smith has 21 catches for 663 yards. Lewis also leads the league in rushing with 544 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Rams take on Fayette County. Northside is currently in third, while the Tigers are in first.
Gordo made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,261 from 4,590. The advance stemmed from a 28-20 victory over Greensboro last week.
