Softball Game Preview: Socorro Warriors vs. Deming Wildcats

The Socorro Warriors will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Deming Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Socorro has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Socorro's tournament run continued when they took on Hope Christian on Saturday. Socorro lost 19-2 to Hope Christian. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Deming was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to Organ Mountain.

Jaylin Holguin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cristal Enriquez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Deming's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Socorro, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
