Volleyball Recap: Gilmour Academy Wins Going Away Against Maple Heights

Gilmour Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Maple Heights on Thursday. The Lancers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Gilmour Academy was: they took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-6, 25-7.

Gilmour Academy found their leader in freshman Mira Siebert, who had 11 aces and three digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Giuliana Rutter, who had 13 assists and four digs.

Gilmour Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Gilmour Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Maple Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Gilmour Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Hawken on the 21st. Maple Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
