Softball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers vs. Central Wildcats
If St. Joseph's Academy was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Liberty Magnet last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers lost 15-4 to the Central Wildcats on Thursday. The Redstickers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.
Nealy Estave was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kenley Massett, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Even though they lost, St. Joseph's Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.
St. Joseph's Academy dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
