Sheldon came tearing into Monday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Pleasant Grove Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 72-54. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-44 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Pleasant Grove saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Nguyen went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Julien Ocampo was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

Sheldon's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Sheldon will venture away from home to challenge Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Sheldon likes a good challenge. As for Pleasant Grove, they will be playing at home against Elk Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
