Preview: Lincoln Northwest Falcons vs. Blair Bears
The Lincoln Northwest Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Blair Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Northwest has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
Last Thursday, Lincoln Northwest came up short against Elkhorn North and fell 61-52. While losing is never fun, Lincoln Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Elkhorn North is ranked 32nd).
Meanwhile, Blair pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wahoo. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blair in their matchups with Wahoo: they've now lost five in a row.
Lincoln Northwest's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Blair, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Lincoln Northwest came up short against Blair in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-46. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Blair's Bo Meier, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Lincoln Northwest knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
