Baseball Game Preview: Paoli Rams vs. Crawford County Wolfpack

The Paoli Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Crawford County Wolfpack at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paoli's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Crawford County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Paoli will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against West Washington on Tuesday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Senators.

Justin Thornton was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Hickman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Paoli hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Crawford County came into Wednesday's contest having lost 14 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Clarksville 16-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolfpack have posted since May 3, 2024.

Paoli has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Crawford County, their record is now 4-14.

Paoli came out on top in a nail-biter against Crawford County in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 10-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
