Basketball Recap: Brandon Kiel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Liberty Baptist Academy over Pahranagat Valley

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Liberty Baptist Academy can now relate to. They fell 51-42 to the Pahranagat Valley Panthers on Saturday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Liberty Baptist Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Kiel, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bruce Delgado, who earned ten points.

Liberty Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Pahranagat Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-8 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Liberty Baptist Academy will take on Spring Mountain at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Liberty Baptist Academy likes a good challenge. As for Pahranagat Valley, they will be playing at home against Indian Springs at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday.
