Softball Recap: Moultonborough Academy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Moultonborough Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Lin-Wood Lumberjacks. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Evelynn Buy was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Nagle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Moultonborough Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Moultonborough Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.8 runs over those games. As for Lin-Wood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Moultonborough Academy beat the Lumberjacks by a score of 18-6 later that day.
