Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, Trinity Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Middleton Tigers with a sharp 17-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the match before.

Haley Lewis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in earned runs. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madey Putman, who scored five runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Rylee Hidrogo was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Trinity Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Middleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Trinity Christian Academy Lions take on Bolivar Central Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Middleton, they will take on Bradford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
