Softball Recap: Saint Mary's Takes a Loss

Saint Mary lost against Salesian College Preparatory back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Pride by a score of 10-9. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aoife Shen was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Meilani Abraham, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Saint Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saint Mary's will venture away from home to square off against Piedmont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pride are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
