Basketball Game Preview: Palmer Ridge Bears vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks

Palmer Ridge and Cheyenne Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Palmer Ridge Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Palmer Ridge turned things around against Air Academy on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-39 victory over the Kadets.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They snuck past the Thunder with a 61-55 win.

Cheyenne Mountain pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Palmer Ridge, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-8.

Everything came up roses for Palmer Ridge against Cheyenne Mountain in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-47 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Cheyenne Mountain's Dalton Larner, who went 8 for 12 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Palmer Ridge still be able to contain Larner? There's only one way to find out.
