Football Game Preview: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Americas Trail Blazers

Bel Air is 0-3 against Americas since October of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Highlanders will head out to challenge the Trail Blazers at 7:30 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 925 yards in their previous games.

On Thursday, Bel Air ended up a good deal behind Parkland and lost 49-33.

Bel Air might have lost, but man, Angel Dominguez was a machine: he rushed for 136 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns. The Highlanders also got help from Marquette Beard, who showed off his sure hands for 170 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Americas lost 68-47 to El Dorado on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Trail Blazers in their meetings with the Aztecs: they've now lost four in a row.

Bel Air will have to contain Camron Johnson as he made an impact in Americas' last game. He rushed for 260 yards and four scores while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 81 receiving yards and one TD. Thanks to that big game, Johnson is now up to 19 rushing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Maurice Edwards, who gained 111 total yards and two touchdowns.

Bel Air's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Americas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Bel Air was taken down by Americas 62-0 in their previous matchup back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Johnson, who rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
