Baseball Game Preview: Lin-Wood Lumberjacks vs. Colebrook Academy Mohawks

Lin-Wood hasn't had much luck against Colebrook Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks will venture away from home to challenge the Mohawks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Wednesday, Lin-Wood got the win against Moultonborough Academy by a conclusive 8-2.

Meanwhile, Colebrook Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-1 win.

Kamren Dowse was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Dylan Dauphnais was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Colebrook Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lin-Wood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Lin-Wood couldn't quite get it done against Colebrook Academy when the teams last played on May 1st as they fell 6-1. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
