Basketball Recap: Platte Canyon Comes Up Short

Platte Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 65-42 to the Jefferson Academy Jaguars.

Leading Jefferson Academy to victory were Jimeto Orji and Josh Neely. Orji dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards, while Neely went 7-for-15 to rack up 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The contest was Neely's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Riley Prevost, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Platte Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Jefferson Academy, they moved to 14-8 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Platte Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-28 defeat against The Academy on the 28th. As for Jefferson Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 53-42 loss against Middle Park on the 28th.
