Volleyball Game Preview: Nazareth Academy Roadrunners vs. Carmel Corsairs

Nazareth Academy is 0-4 against Carmel since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Roadrunners will be playing in front of their home fans against the Corsairs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Nazareth Academy is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Cristo Rey Jesuit. While the Roadrunners didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cristeros 25-18 in the first set.

Nazareth Academy actually scored more points across those three sets (73-70), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 18-25, 27-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Carmel came up short against Grayslake Central on Monday and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21.

Carmel has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season. As for Nazareth Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-23.
