            River Islands played a tough  game  on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt  an  89-46 loss at the hands of the Venture Academy Mustangs. The Riptide were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  45-21.
 When it comes to explaining why River Islands lost, don't look at  Charles Mapanao. Despite the final result, he  posted 12 points.  Dylan Peter was another key player,  putting up five  points.
 It was another big night for  Kwasi Moses, who  went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and three  steals for Venture Academy. Moses is  crushing it when it comes to  steals: he's   grabbed at least two every time he's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Josiah Johnson, who  earned nine  points and three  steals.
River Islands' defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 9-9. As for Venture Academy, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record  this season.
 River Islands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  78-47  win against Millennium on the 20th. Venture Academy has also  already played their next game,  a  72-68  loss against Fortune Early College on the 20th.
