Basketball Recap: Bartlett Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bartlett was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Newman International Academy on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 49-29 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Arianna Miranda and Morgan Brooks certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Miranda posted 12 points in addition to seven steals and three blocks, while Brooks put up six points along with six rebounds and five steals. Miranda is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

Bartlett's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Newman International Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Coincidentally, Bartlett and Newman International Academy will both be playing Penelope the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 4:45 p.m.
