Baseball Game Preview: Columbus East Olympians vs. Jennings County Panthers

The Columbus East Olympians will challenge the Jennings County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Columbus East's offense. They fell just short of Floyd Central by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Olympians have suffered since April 11th.

Columbus East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bige Asher, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Jennings County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Floyd Central.

Columbus East dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jennings County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
