Preview: Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears vs. Chapel Hill Bulldogs
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Chapel Hill Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Little Cypress-Mauriceville will be strutting in after a victory while Chapel Hill will be coming in after a defeat.
After only seven points in their last match, Little Cypress-Mauriceville made sure to put some points up on the board against Hargrave on Friday. Little Cypress-Mauriceville took down Hargrave 42-28.
Meanwhile, Chapel Hill was the victim of a tough 39-16 defeat at the hands of Kilgore on Friday.
Chapel Hill's defeat came about despite a quality game from Rickey Stewart, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 81 receiving yards. Stewart has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last eight times he's played.
Little Cypress-Mauriceville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Chapel Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Things could have been worse for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-14 loss to Chapel Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can Little Cypress-Mauriceville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
