Basketball Game Preview: KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers vs. Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers

The KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Friday, KIPP Denver Collegiate came up short against STEM School Highlands Ranch and fell 49-36. The White Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cripple Creek-Victor). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 49-20 win over Colorado School for the Deaf Blind. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pioneers have posted since January 6th.

Cripple Creek-Victor had a senior duo take command as Trevor Mirande almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds and Chase Lohmeier posted 11 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mirande has scored all season. Dylan Reyes was another key player, putting up six points.

Cripple Creek-Victor was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

KIPP Denver Collegiate now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
