Basketball Recap: River Ridge's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Orangeville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played River Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Mason Smith. The River Ridge Wildcats breezed past the Orangeville Broncos to the tune of 62-29 on Monday thanks in part to Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 rebounds and nine steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Damon Dittmar was another key player, putting up 16 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for River Ridge and bumps their season record up to 12-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Orangeville, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-26.

River Ridge has already played their next game (against Warren), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Orangeville, they will face off against Pearl City at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
