Basketball Recap: Bay City Falls Despite Big Games from Khylee Perry and Jacayla Eaton

After flying high against La Marque last Tuesday, Bay City came back down to earth. The match between the Bay City Blackcats and the Wharton Tigers didn't end well, with the Bay City Blackcats falling 59-40. The Blackcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 60-37.

Jacayla Eaton and Khylee Perry certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Eaton posted eight points and 13 rebounds, while Perry put up 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Those 13 rebounds gave Eaton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sasha Onwuchekwa, who had five points and 12 boards.

Bay City's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Wharton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-19 record this season.

Bay City has already played their next game, a 70-18 win against Needville on the 4th. As for Wharton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-27 loss against Brazosport on the 4th.
