Softball Recap: East Central Has No Trouble Against Clark

East Central won the last time they faced Clark and things went their way on Friday too. The East Central Hornets blew past the Clark Cougars 11-3. The match marked the Hornets' most dominant win of the season so far.

Tesse Harisson and Jenise Ramirez did most of the damage at the plate: Harisson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, while Ramirez scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Ramirez a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Glorisoso, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

East Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

East Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Clark's loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, East Central will host Alexander at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clark, they will head out on the road to face off against Antonian Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Clark has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
