Baseball Recap: Kentlake Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Kentlake lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Auburn Mountainview, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Falcons put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 14-3 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won eight games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Christopher Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Moore was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Lincoln Moore was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Noah Adams was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Kentlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in ten consecutive matchups.

Kentlake pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn Mountainview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
